5. A False Promise of Spiritual Enlightenment
“For God doth know that in the day ye eat
thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good
and evil.” (Genesis 3:5)
The physical eyes of Adam and Eve were already
open. That is not what Satan was promising. He was promising spiritual
enlightenment. Satan still does that today. He promises to give people special
insight or knowledge that others don’t have, or have access to.
